Just on the outskirts of Culham sits the recently reopened Waggon & Horses, a
passionately run traditional pub that always has its guests firmly in mind.

The friendly team here are always happy to hear customers’ feedback and loyalty schemes are
available for returning patrons. This charitable establishment also hosts frequent fundraisers, which include live music performances and barbecues, meaning there are plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy in the large, well-kept garden.

The menu is varied and affordable – chef will cook you up a delicious main meal for around £8 – and it also contains a children’s menu and large lunch selection. Choices comprise classic pub food with additional South African dishes such as my delicious springbok burger or perhaps an exotic bobotie. I ended my meal with a gooey chocolate brownie and was heartily satisfied.

Every Sunday, the Waggon & Horses hosts an extremely popular tasting carvery; great value at just £8.95.

Staff are hardworking and efficient, and should you be merely looking for a little something to quench your thirst, they’ll happily serve you great quality house wines and proudly present their real ales.
